Lifting Weights

September 25th, 2009

I’ll admit, I’ve never really been one for weights. I’ve seen the way my sister gets, and she bulks up really fast. I mean her arms double in size when she’s only lifting small weights in greater numbers like you’re supposed to theoretically to build lean muscle mass. And frankly speaking, my arms tone out just when I’m for example walking and I happen to use the bar for about a minute or for that matter when I’m using the elliptical.

So it scares me what my arms for the most part would do if I were to actually do more weight lifting. My calves already have their own issues. This being said, frankly speaking, weight training is an integral part of any good workout. You have to be able to tone and work your muscles and frankly having more muscles naturally of course defines your body. But it also naturally increases your body’s natural fat burning mechanisms.

This being said, it’s something to consider. Even if you use resistance training instead, you have to work on some kind of muscles rather than just working with cardio to burn more fat. But of course, never forget about cardio. It is also important.
